The newest Magnum light tower, the model MLT3060, has many of the same lawn features as the existing MLT4060 tower, but in a smaller envelope. It is powered by either of two liquid-cooled engine options, a Mitsubishi L3E or Cat 3003, which drive a 6 kW Marathon generator. Other engine system components include Enginaire air cleaners, Diesel Radiator radiators and Nelson mufflers.The MLT3060 light tower, which was just introduced in July, has a three-part mast that extends to a height mower of 30 ft. and rotates 360[degrees]. The light tower incorporates a new Start Limit Breaker (SLB), which eliminates the potential of starting the engine with a load on the generator. This safety feature protects the generator and any loads connected to it. The MLT3060 light tower is shipped from the factory with its lights installed and offers four individual ballast boxes and indicator lights, four individual circuit breakers, a stable four-point outrigger stance, coiled mast cord, low oil/high temperature automatic shutdown system, hourmeter, 120 V GFIC and 240 twist-lock outlets, all as standard. Each of Magnum''s light towers also include Magnum''s own control panel.

The newest additions to Honda''s GC engines series are the 6-hp., horizontal-shaft GC190 (pictured) and 6.5-hp., vertical-shaft GCV190 models. These higher hp. engines are designed specifically for premium, high-volume, residential power equipment and are now available through Honda Engine distributors nationwide. Both shaft configurations also are supplied to other power equipment manufacturers on an original equipment basis. As with other overhead cam (OHC) engines in the GC series, a combination of the world''s first internal timing belt and uniblock construction creates a lighter and more compact package than any other model in the class, delivering an unparalleled power-to-weight ratio. Simple construction also minimizes the number of moving parts, making the engines reliable and easy to operate. The internal components have been strengthened through the use of a stronger piston pin, larger connecting rod, larger rod journal and redesigned oil control ring. The GC190 and GCV190 engines meet or exceed all 2006 CARB and EPA emission requirements. After successfully launching its vertical-shaft, liquid-cooled Aegis engines at EXPO tires 99, Kohler introduced horizontal-shaft counterparts at EXPO 2000. Kobler will produce 3 models rated at 17-, 20-, and 23-hp. with full production on the 23-hp. model starting in spring 2001. With the addition of Kohler Aegis in both vertical- and horizontal-shaft configurations, Kohler can now provide OEMs and end users with a full range of 4-stroke, twin-cylinder engines from 17 to 26 hp. Honda Engines has added two new higher horsepower models to its GC series of four-stroke gasoline engines. The 6 hp GC19O and the vertical shaft 6.5 hp GC Vi 90 engines are designed specifically for premium residential power equipment applications. The two new engines join Honda Engine''s 4 hp GC135/GCV135 and the 5 hp GC160/GCV160 engines in the product range.

Low-hydrogen types. These basic-coated electrodes, EXX15, EXX16, EXX18, EXX28, and EXX48, are formulated with low moisture-retaining coatings and manufactured to contain low levels of hydrogen. Hydrogen-controlled electrodes minimize risk of hydrogen-induced cold cracking when welding high-tensile steels on restrained structures. Fabricators use these electrodes to reduce or avoid the need for pre- or postweld heat treatment to drive hydrogen from weld metal. Weldmetal diffusible hydrogen content varies from 1 to 16 ml/100 g. Optional designators H16, H8, and H4 set decreasing limits on hydrogen content in deposited weld metal. An optional electrode designator, ''R'', indicates an electrode that is moisture resistant; it will not absorb water in excess of a specified limit after exposure to humidity. Low-hydrogen electrodes should be used in dry condition and may require baking after exposure to the atmosphere.
